Ok, as requested by CSR, I have to post in English daw because as you can see on our slick and gorgeous counter, we have foreign visitors. Mabuhaaaaay! Hehehe. Actually mas nakakatakot knowing na may nagbabasa pala nitong blog natin aside from us. Anyway, CSR helped me in this post as I'm a little rusty in English. As a result of an irritating DC which happened earlier in the middle of a downloading process, I swore I have to write something back just to release the anguish I felt. Here goes 10 things I hate about my ISP...

High Latency. While the result on the speedtest shown may not always be the situation

(it does happen), we always seem to get a 3 digit latency mostly during peak hours which is one of the factors why, eventhough we get higher speed results sometimes, browsing is still slow. Ping or latency is important because it is the time it takes for a server to react to our initiated actions from our very own pc's. It is most important for those requiring real time interaction most especially during online gaming.

MyDestiny is not for online games? According to one of my fellow subscribers, this was the reply of one of the customer service representatives of myDestiny when asked why is the connection
laggy when playing online games. The latencies are so high
during online play that, before we knew it, our character has already succumb to a lot of hits if not dead already in the next scene.

DC's. How many times have this situation happened to me? I was downloading a file directly from a server and then in the middle of the slow download, I noticed the progress bar is not moving. After a few more moments it says download complete even though it was 50% incomplete a blink of an eye ago. Oh so I got disconnected after the long wait. Great! It's not enough that I get slow download speeds, I have to experience a DC to repeat the downloading process again from scratch! What a connection! What's worse? If you're downloading from rapidshare, megaupload and other file-hosting sites which has download limits, you'd be asked to wait forever before you can download again!

DNS & DHCP problems. Though it seldom happens now, it still does, making your browsing experience irritating as you frequently receive "Cannot find server" errors. Worse your internet connection is no longer responding, you can't even access your cable modem stats and the only resort you can do is to reboot the cable modem. Where's the on and off button? Oh, you have to unplug it and, after a few counts, replug it again.

Uploads going down. I don't know about the rest of the subscribers but I sure do need

uploads as much as I need downloads. I understand that uploads usually are way slower than downloads on most connections (except those of symmetric type) but upload speeds as low as 4 kbps?! Man, how long will uploading a 5 mb photo album in rar file take? Er... let's do the math thing shall we? 5 mb (equivalent to the average of one good quality mp3 file) is the same as 5,000 kb divided by 4 kbps is... 1,250 seconds which is approximately 20 to 21 minutes! What more if you're uploading let's say a music album (around 60 to 100mb) or a video (much much more)? I used to upload very big files overnight but with reason #8 and this, ugh, it's gonna take more than a day and that's if you're not getting any DC's!

Downs. Download speeds go way below dial-up speeds---that's myDestiny at its worst. Talk about their ad claiming speeds 100 times

faster than dial-up huh? Should their ads be subjected to some scrutiny regarding false advertising as most of their slogans are counterfactual? Ok, fine, we don't get that less-than-dial-up speeds more frequently but if you look at the big inconsistencies of the speedtest results supported by the actual downloading speeds (while downloading via torrents, other P2P clients or direct downloading), you'll get the picture why it took you longer to download some big file while you may possibly saw it was "blazingly" fast at first glance. However if you observe the whole downloading process, you'd see how the speeds would dip into super slow heroes-in-a-half-shell pace and go up and down like a... er... crazy frog? These inconsistencies make you sometimes feel Smart Bro subscribers are doing better. I know, I mean come on, how can a wireless network be any faster than the super interstellar
high-capacity Hybrid Fiber Coaxial (HFC) Network that myDestiny is so proud of? But then again, what good is a freeway, an expressway or a superhighway if the cars are moving like snails?

More downs. With myDestiny, you get more downtimes in a day, almost always during

peak hours when you need a quality connection the most. "Normal" connection usually starts when you're supposed to rest and call it a day. Note to myDestiny, your subscribers are residing here in the Philippines, not on the opposite side of the world. What do you see in us, batman? (Anong tingin nyo sa amin, taong paniki?)... Hehe... Sorry I just have to post that one because it made CSR laugh so hard we forgot that we were mad about the recent incident as stated in reason #8. Now I see CSR's point of making this blog. Yeah, yeah it actually helps, you're right. So can we go on now and bash some more of myDestiny Broadband Internet's lame service?

Downgrades? It was said by CSR's post that myDestiny is no longer way faster than DSL as they often tell people through one of their false ad slogans enticing and deceiving unknowing subscribers and luring them with a 499 PhP monthly service fees promo for a limited period of only two months, then it goes back to the normal MSF (999 PhP). There are DSL plans with 3 mbps and 5 mbps nowadays. They are not even the most affordable now. Look at PLDT's 1 mbps plan for only 999 PhP and Globe's 1.5 mbps plan for only 995 PhP. As one of my fellow subscribers put it, while DSL users are getting speed upgrades for their current plans, what has myDestiny Internet offered to their loyal subscribers? A speed cap!

A 1.5 mbps speed cap as previously mentioned by CSR which until now they still deny despite the fact that eversince we suspected that they lowered down our maximum speed, we have never gone over 1.5 mbps even on unholy hours of the morning which we usually had. Based on torrents and other means, our downloads had gone longer to finish than what we normally have experienced before. What's worse is that there are still some subscribers (on a few other areas of Mega Manila) that are still enjoying our previous speeds (2.5 mbps or more) while we are all paying the same fee (there's only one plan for residential subscribers). Most of the nodes are capped while a few "special" nodes aren't? For them to cap our speeds without actually informing us of the change in bandwidth, isn't that illegal? If indeed they don't have any speed caps on all of their nodes as they claim, why would they not treat this as a concern or a problem that should be addressed properly and should therefore send a team to troubleshoot the problem because of the fact that we did experience those speeds before even during peak hours (then all of a sudden most, if not all, of us can't get speeds any higher than 1.5 mbps)? As one of my fellow subscribers have said, the only thing the technical support team can say is "Swerte nyo na yan sir nakaabot pa kayo ng 1 mbps" when asked about the capped bandwidth.
No speed limit? Bull shit! Liars!!!
Because myDestiny keeps on repeating and doing all of these, screwing up again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again...
